Amateur radio: Software UpdatesTo use an update file, you must have previously purchased and installed a licensed copy of the product, and you will need your serial number, activation key and original CD/diskette or hardware key in order to install. Beginning with version 5.55, all non-demo versions of Scan*Star include a Field Software Update capability. This feature can be used to update to the latest version of Scan*Star without having to call the Signal Intelligence Inc. and order diskettes. If you have a version of Scan*Star older than 5.55, you must call Signal Intelligence Inc. to order update diskettes. Please Note: Update files are recorded in a special format, and can only be unpacked with an already installed version of the same product. If Scan*Star is not currently installed on your computer, you must install the older version from diskettes first. Step One: Get the latest update file from the Internet. Click on the appropriate icon above. Step Two: Run the Scan*Star configuration program and select Update Now from the Field Software Update sub menu. Make sure there are no Scan*Star programs running before you do this. You will need to supply the path and file name of the file downloaded in step one, and a path to store the new set of installation files. The installation files can be placed on a floppy diskette if desired. Scan*Star will create a new set of update files, and then run the new SETUP. At this point, use SETUP to install the new version of Scan*Star. If you need to reinstall Scan*Star later on, you can run SETUP from this directory. Legacy Support The following products have been designated as legacy products, and are no longer being updated. If you have one of these products, you should consider taking advantage of our special upgrade offers. The following links are for the last version available. Signal Intelligence Inc. frequently makes BETA versions of it's software available for general testing. Users are strongly cautioned that BETA versions are not fully tested, and loss of data or other problems are possible. Users accept all risks associated with testing BETA versions of software. The Spectrum Manager BETA program is open to all current Scan*Star Industrial owners. BETA versions are time limited, and the Scan*Star system key is required to install and run. NOTE: You must be a registered user to participate in any BETA testing. All BETA versions are full product, serial numbers and activation keys are required to install. In addition, you must have the original factory diskette in order to install. |
